Just Arrived - Flying Biscuits
Buzz on over and 'catch' a flyin biscuit! Finally, a breakfast-all-day restaurant in Raleigh!  The Flying Biscuit Café opened last week in Cameron VillageThe FlyingBuiscuitThis famous, Atlanta-based restaurant serves up colorful, creative dishes for the anytime breakfast eater.  The coloring book décor is fun and casual with bright, cheerful murals of sunflowers.  Owner, Delia Champion, has been featured on ABC's Good Morning America, The Food Network's $40 a day with Rachel Ray, and more.  Full bar ... Voted Best Breakfast, Best Brunch, Best Biscuits, and Best Grits in 2008.

This ain't no Flap, Jack! Touted for breakfast, it's also a great value for lunch and dinner ... and you always get a huge, fluffy biscuit dusted with sugar, served with their famous signature warm cranberry apple butter.  The multifaceted menu features standard and eclectic choices.  Breakfast sides include applewood smoked bacon, North Carolina country cured ham, and their famous chicken sausage. For dinner you can satisfy your southern comfort moods with Oven Fried Chicken and Shrimp and Grits. Prices are reasonable; particularly given the generous portions.  Oh, and did we mention a full bar?

For all you Grateful Bread, The Flying Biscuit does catering and they sell their own cookbook.  For the curious who can't wait, go to The Flying Biscuit website  www.flyingbiscuit.com  or to Public Broadcasting Atlanta Click Here for recipes.

Their menu reads "Five-star food and service, at one-star prices".  No flake, the Buzz predicts many Happy Meals ... but watch out for those flying biscuits!

Ballet Buffet
Come see why George Balanchine is the Father of American Ballet and Robert Weiss is the favorite son ... In the ballet world, no one is bigger than Balanchine. His legacy still dominates the world of dance. Carolina BalletSo don't miss your chance to see two of his most stirring and memorable ballets.

Carolina Ballet will present the dynamic Four Temperaments and the haunting La Sonnambula January 29 - February 1, 2009 at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in the Progress Energy Center for Performing Arts. But the buffet doesn't stop there! You will also be treated to a pas de deux from Stars and Stripes, performed to the rousing sounds of a John Philip Sousa march.

And there's more! To show how Balanchine influenced Robert Weiss' own ballets, he will present something never seen by our Raleigh audiences ... A short but tasty ballet by Robert himself -- Jota Aragonesa.    For tickets, call 919-719-0900 or Click Here.   See you at the Ballet!

TheBeltlineBuzz items are selected by our editors.
No one can pay to be featured on TheBeltlineBuzz. That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such. Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of TheBeltlineBuzz. Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way. So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about.
That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors. You'll recognize them from the subject line: "TheBeltlineBuzz Dedicated E-mail." Yes, these are paid for.  And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone. Not for any amount of money.
We hope that you continue to enjoy your BeltlineBuzz. We look forward to delivering it.
